• A Valley of Blue Envelopes

  When environmental engineer Logan Pine inherits his uncle's cattle ranch in remote Washington, he is hoping for a quiet year while his astronaut wife Darcy completes a lunar mission. Then a college student turns up dead down the road, and an accident strands Darcy on the surface of the moon.

  With only an emergency line open between them, they write — letters transcribed and sent by Darcy's assistant under the nose of Mission Control. Once Logan is conscripted into the local investigation, the letters change purpose: Darcy's expertise lets her catch what he misses, from the lunar surface. When the FBI arrives looking for someone to charge, Logan has to decide whether he will protect the community he has only just become part of — while lunar dust chokes every system in Darcy's habitat.

  A love letter to the modern American West, and to the communities we build when no one else is coming to help.
