Tidewrack

2026 · in-progress

Wrack is what the tide leaves when it turns: weed, shell, a plank, whatever the water carried that far and then put down.

These sheets are made the same way as Big Salt — the same salt and seaweed, the same flood of water under glass — but I leave most of the field alone. What’s left is one thing on its own. A breakwater seen from above through moving water. Salt blooming outward in halos. A wave curling and coming apart over two small sheets.

The series is still open. Whatever the water sets down next goes here.

  1. A pale sinuous spine running the full height of the sheet, its edges dissolving into flocculent bloom, held in an even mid-blue field like a breakwater seen from the air through moving water.

  2. Radiating salt blooms scattered across a wide blue field, each ringed by a paler halo where the crystals drew moisture outward.

  3. A pale cloud of foam breaking open across deep blue, its left edge scattering into flecks like spray thrown off a curling wave.
Bright fragments suspended through a grainy blue field, the foam of the first sheet dispersed and sinking rather than breaking.
